Our mantra is “Zetna Fi Betna,” which means “The Oil Is Within Us.”

Our mission is to help elevate consciousness in the world, through the things we make and do. Every item purchased helps us get one step closer towards realizing our dream. As the South Sudanese proverb says “Zetna Fi Betna” which means, “The Oil Is Within Us.” We truly have all the resources we need within us, and in our communities, to take care of humanity, and everything in the natural ecosystem that sustains us. Designing and making intentional pieces with powerful, healing, loving and high vibrational messages is one of the ways we support the collective mission to help heal the world. As they say, when you heal yourSelf, you heal the world.

ZeroByZawadi “Sayarees” and “MoYoga Bags” are the two signature products we currently produce. For three years, the material we have been working with is the East African “kanga” - the world’s most unique and powerful textile. The Kanga (also known as “lesso”) has been used as a tool for communication in East Africa since the 19th century. Every kanga is unique and carries a Swahili “jina” (name), which is a proverb or message that may be interpreted in different ways by whoever is giving, receiving, or reading it. What most people don’t know, is that every kanga collection is only produced once. This is what makes them very special collectors’ items, that are sometimes even handed down several generations.

When you wear ZeroByZawadi Sayarees, you are one of a few people in the world that are sharing the special messages they carry. Our intention is that these words will always speak a blessing to you and the people you share them with. The words might also mean something new to you, each time you connect with them. We also hope your Sayarees will spark many inspiring and meaningful conversations with the people who are drawn to them.

We use our carefully curated Kangas to make “Sayarees” for adults (all genders) & pregnant mamas; “Toto Sayarees” for children; & our “MoYoga Bag”. “Sayari” means “universe” in Kiswahili, while “Moyo” means “heart/soul”. Because of their versatility and powerful messages, to us ZeroByZawadi Sayarees represent the universe’s infinite possibilities. Our MoYoga Bags are also a reminder that we are all soul beings and therefore we are One.

We are committed to social impact, and truly living and promoting the values of Zetna Fi Betna in communty. A percentage of our profits supports Mother Health International - a global maternal health organization that has a beautiful gentle birth center in Attiak village, Northern Uganda.
